Sock Hop

A sock drive for those in need

Since the founding of our school in 1923, we have developed many wonderful traditions.  One of the most important traditions is giving back to our community. In almost 100 years, our students and parents (mostly our parents) have given countless volunteer hours. You name it, we have done it – from collecting pennies to establish the penguin habitat for the Kansas City Zoo to the various ministries reached through Rams Reaching Out. Our school is dedicated to being a servant leader. Last week we collected cans and non-perishable food items for the poor. It was amazing seeing hundreds of cans and boxes.

Our next big charitable deed is to collect new socks for those in need. Our donation will be given to Catholic Charities and the men’s socks will be given to Project Uplift (an Organization to support the homeless).

Please join us in bringing new socks for a wonderful tradition started by the Lighthouse Leader In Me St. Agnes Team.

Dates- Collection will take place October 17- November 3.

Place- Please bring new socks into your students classroom.

Our WIG (Wildly Important Goal) is for each grade to bring in 125 pairs of socks, while our school wide WIG is 1000 pairs of socks. We will celebrate on November 7 with a sock hop at the gym and a special surprise.

Sincerely the 2022-2023 Lighthouse Team
