Fine Arts – Music and Theater

The mission of the St. Agnes Music and Theater room is to glorify God through our music, dance, and acting while honoring the gifts He has blessed us with. We will choose joy in the ordinary and enter into the love of Jesus together.

The St. Agnes Music and Theater room is focused on aiding each student in their educational journey while supporting and encouraging creativity, problem solving, intellectual curiosity, and confidence. Being involved in music develops a child’s imagination and intellectual curiosity which can create a positive attitude towards learning. Music also helps to improve hand-eye coordination, particularly with young children who are developing their small motor skills. These, of course, are just a few benefits to your students having music twice a week. When it comes to theater and speech, creative expression helps students learn to comprehend our world better, preparing them for when they graduate secondary school. It also strengthens reading skills, builds self-confidence and self-esteem, and provides a safe space to express one’s emotions. In addition, students who are engaged in theater and speech have stronger problem solving and communication skills which are a firm foundation when navigating this world.
